Summary
This article explains the arbitration procedure under the Rules of Arbitration of the German Arbitration Institute, as opposed to the guidelines of the American Arbitration Association (AAA). While basic points tend to be similar, the article discusses the need for a written agreement, the filing of a claim, the selection of arbitrators, the award rendered, and other similarities and dissimilarities with the American practice.
